Three persons have been confirmed dead in a crash involving two Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicles in Lagos State.
POLITICS NIGERIA learned that the accident happened around 6:30 am when the two red BRT buses had a head-on collision. Also involved in the accident which happened around Ketu bus stop, was a commercial bus, popularly called Danfo.
About 10 persons were injured in the accident.
Road users who were heading for Mile 12/Ikorodu have been held up in gridlock as a result of the accident.
Confirming the incident, the Spokesman, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Adebayo Taofeek, said the incident was unfortunate and urged people to make use of designated bus-stops and pedestrian bridges to avoid future occurrences.
“The incident is unfortunate. Designated bus-stops and pedestrian bridges are constructed for our use.
“Let me seize this opportunity to advice people to make good use of it and stop endangering our lives,” Taofeek said.
Bodies of those that died have been deposited at the morgue.
