The traditional figure’s death has sent shockwaves across the Katsina Emirate Council. Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari has since expressed deep sadness over his demise.
This was conveyed via a statement signed by the Senior Special assistant to the President on media, Garba Shehu, made available to POLITICS NIGERIA on Wednesday evening;
“President Muhammadu Buhari commiserates with the Katsina Emirate Council on the passing of Sarkin Sharfai Katsina, Alhaji Abba Jaye.”
“The President also extends condolences to the family, friends and associates of the deceased who was a pillar of support to this administration, offering timely advice and supporting several charitable organisations in his community.
“The President prays Almighty Allah to reward his good deeds with paradise and comfort his beloved family.”
