Nigeria’s Attorney General, Abubakar Malami has shut down his Twitter account.
Malami on Tuesday, announced via Facebook that he has deactivated his Twitter account. The AGF’s move is coming shortly after the Federal Government suspended all Twitter Operations in the country.
Twitter had deleted a tweet citing genocidal violence against people of the South-east region from President Muhammad’s Buhari’s handle, a move that didn’t go well with the government.
It will be recalled that AGF Malami ordered the immediate arrest and prosecution of any Nigerian still using micro-blogging website.
However, Mr. Malami was inundated with over 1,100 comments on his facebook page 40 minutes after making the announcement with many of his Facebook followers asking him how he accessed Twitter without using VPN.
