JUST IN: APC Governors Back Tinubu for Second Term

Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have passed a unanimous vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and declared their endorsement of him as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

The declaration came during the APC summit held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where party faithful gathered for the event.

The motion was moved by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma. Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State seconded the motion.

The development comes just days after the opposition took a step toward a unified front against the APC in 2027.

On Tuesday night, a coalition of political figures,  including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former governors Nasir el-Rufai, Rotimi Amaechi, and Kayode Fayemi, reached a consensus to adopt the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the united opposition platform for the next election.
