The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken legal action against Justice Usman Na’abba of the Kano State High Court, submitting a petition to the National Judicial Council (NJC).
The move comes after Justice Na’abba granted an ex parte order restraining Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the Party’s National Chairman, from acting as the Party’s leader.
The restraining order followed Dr Ganduje’s suspension on Monday by Executives of the Ganduje Ward in the Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The ex parte application was filed by the Ganduje Ward Legal Adviser, Barrister Gwanjo, and the ward’s Assistant Secretary, Mr Laminu Baguma.
The suit lists the APC, APC National Working Committee, the Kano State APC Executive Committee, and Dr. Ganduje as respondents. Bar. Haladu Gwanjo, the Legal Adviser of the APC Ganduje Ward, Dawakin-Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, addressed journalists in Kano, announcing Dr Ganduje’s suspension.
Bar. Gwanjo cited bribery allegations against Dr Ganduje as the basis for the suspension, explicitly referencing charges involving $413,000 and N1.38bn filed by the Kano State Government against Dr Ganduje before the Kano State High Court.
