
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released the official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2025 bye-elections into two Senatorial Districts, five House of Representatives seats, and nine State House of Assembly constituencies.
According to the timetable signed by Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, APC’s national organizing secretary, the process will commence on Monday, 30th June, with the issuance of notices of election to state chapters.
He said a revalidation and update of the party’s membership register is scheduled for Tuesday, 1st July to Saturday, 5th July.
According to him, only financially up-to-date members whose names appear in the register will be eligible to participate.
He said sales of Expression of Interest, Nomination, and Delegate forms will take place from Monday, 7th July to Thursday, 10th July, with the deadline for submission fixed for Thursday, 10th July.
He added that screening of aspirants will follow on Monday, 14th July.
Argungu said ward delegate congresses will hold on Thursday, 17th July, while primary elections to choose the party’s candidates are scheduled for Saturday, 19th July.
He further stated that the ratification of results and release of the final list of candidates will be concluded by Saturday, 26th July, the same day campaign activities are expected to begin.
He noted that the bye-elections themselves are set to take place on Saturday, 16th August 2025.
Form fees have been fixed at ₦20 million for Senate aspirants, ₦10 million for House of Representatives, and ₦2 million for State House of Assembly hopefuls.
However, female aspirants and persons with disabilities are exempt from paying for the Expression of Interest Form. Youths aged between 25 and 40 are eligible for a 50% discount on the Nomination Form.
The party also stated that only members with valid financial records dating back at least three months will be allowed to vote in the delegate congresses.
