JUST IN: Court suspends Bauchi APC Chairman

The Bauchi State High Court has issued a restraining order against Babayo Aliyu Misau, the suspended state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the order prevents Misau from presenting himself as a member or chairman of the party in the state.

The order was granted by Justice Lamido Umar, in a suit filed by Alhaji Al-Mustapha Zubairu with suit number: BA/73/2023.

This newspaper learnt that the judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff and against Babayo Misau and the APC.

Justice Umar noted that he had reviewed the motion ex-parte, the affidavit in support, and the applicant’s written address, which requested an order of interim injunction.

He also considered the exhibits in support of the application, along with the affidavit in support deposed to by Abdulhamid Attahir and the written address of the applicant’s counsel, S.G. Idrees.

As a result, Justice Umar granted the order of interim injunction, restraining Babayo Misau from representing himself as the state chairman of the party or as a member of the APC.

The orders of the court are as follows:

“That an order of Interim Injunction be and is hereby made restraining the 1st defendant/respondent (Babayo Misau) from further parading himself as a member of the 2nd defendant/respondent (APC) or the chairman of the 2nd defendant/respondent, pending the determination of the motion on notice.

“That an order of interim injunction be and is hereby made restraining the 2nd Defendant/Respondent from dealing with the 1″ Defendant/Respondent as a Member or the Chairman of the 2nd Defendant/Respondent, pending the determination of the Motion on Notice.”
