JUST IN: Atiku Visits Former Military President Ibrahim Babangida [PHOTOS]

Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has paid a visit to former military President Ibrahim Babangida.

Atiku shared the news of his visit on his social media page.

“On a courtesy visit to former military President Ibrahim Babangida ahead of his book launch tomorrow. -AA,” Atiku wrote accompanied by photos.

Ibrahim Babangida ruled the country as a military president from 1985 to 1993. He came to power after leading a coup against then-military leader Muhammadu Buhari and remained in office until stepping down due to the political crisis surrounding the annulment of the 1993 election.

This visit comes after Atiku held a private meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State earlier in the month. The meeting, which was attended by notable political figures including Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, former Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke, former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and Obasanjo’s close associate Oyewole Fasawe, sparked speculations about Atiku’s possible plans for the 2027 presidential election.
