Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Sunday evening paid a courtesy visit to former Governor of Sokoto State, Attahiru Bafarawa, at his Abuja residence.
Atiku, in a post on his X handle, noted that he was warmly received and had meaningful discussions with the former governor.
“Yesterday evening, I paid a courtesy visit to the former Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Attahiru Bafarawa, at his residence in Abuja.
“I’m happy to have met him in such a hospitable condition and to have had quality discussions with him,” he stated.
Atiku, who served as Vice President from 1999 to 2007 is a key figure in Nigeria’s opposition politics. He is expected to give another shot at the presidency in 2027.
