Bandits have abducted several farmers in Isa local government area of Sokoto state.
The attack happened on Thursday morning, barely an hour before Governor Ahmed Aliyu was scheduled to visit the area.
The governor was billed to console residents over previous attacks in the local government when the latest incident occurred.
Details of the abduction remain sketchy, but local sources said the victims were taken while working on their farms when it occured
Authorities are yet to comment on the incident.
Sokoto is one of the hardest hit states in the northwest in terms of banditry attacks.
