Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has dissolved all the Local Government Caretaker Committees with immediate effect following the expiration of their tenure in office.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the dissolution was announced in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim.
The statement said that the Chairmen of local government caretaker committees are directed to hand over the affairs of the local governments to their respective heads of administration pending the appointment of substantive caretaker committees.
Governor Mohammed thanked the members of the dissolved caretaker committees for their service and wished them well in their future endeavours.
The dissolution of the caretaker committees comes after the expiration of their tenure. The committees were appointed by the governor in December 2022 to oversee the affairs of the local governments following the dissolution of the elected local government councils.
