JUST IN: Bayelsa Labour Party governorship candidate joins APC, applauds Tinubu

Udengs Eradiri, the immediate past governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Bayelsa State, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Eradiri, who registered with the APC in Ward 10, Constituency 2, Yenagoa, attributed his decision to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strong commitment to infrastructural development, particularly in his Agudiama/Ekpetiama community, within Yenagoa Local Government Area.

Eradiri made reference to key initiatives implemented by the Tinubu administration, which he believes have greatly benefited his community and the wider Niger Delta region.

These include the provision of potable water, shore protection, solar streetlights, and the construction of a one-kilometre road, all facilitated through the Samuel Ogbuku-led Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The former Bayelsa Commissioner for Youths and Environment noted that the positive impacts of these interventions extended beyond his community, contributing to the improved infrastructure and peace in the Niger Delta.

Eradiri also praised the federal government’s ongoing projects, including plans to remodel a local secondary school and build a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge in the state.

Additionally, Eradiri commended President Tinubu for signing the Maritime University Bill into law and approving the University of Technology and Environment in Ogoni, which he believes will further stabilize the region and foster long-term growth.

He also lauded Tinubu for appointing Bayelsa indigenes to key positions, such as the Head of Service, the Minister of State for Petroleum, and the Managing Director of the NDDC.

Eradiri expressed his belief that Tinubu’s administration is serious about enhancing oil production and accelerating the construction of the East-West Road under the supervision of Minister of Works, Dr. Dave Umahi.

He attributed much of the peace and development in the Niger Delta to the collaborative efforts of these projects.

He insisted that Tinubu truly means well for the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole, urging supporters in the region to join him in backing the President’s vision for the country.

Eradiri expressed gratitude to APC members in Bayelsa for welcoming him into the party and pledged to work with all stakeholders to strengthen the APC in the state.

“The best way to thank a government that is doing well is to join them,” Eradiri concluded.
