Samuel Ortom, the Governor of Benue has announced Dr Charles Iornumbe as the new Director-General (DG) of state-owned Radio Benue.
Nathaniel Ikyur, his Principal Special Assistant on Media was unveiled as the Governor’s new Chief Press Secretary (CPS).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Ikyur succeeds Terver Akase, who relinquished his position to contest for Governor of the state. Akase is vying for the gubernatorial seat under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He made the disclosure about the new government appointees via a post on his known Facebook page on Tuesday afternoon.
“Hon Nathaniel Ikyur, CPS, Dr Charles Iornumbe, DG Radio Benue. Great choices again Your Excellency, Governor Samuel Ortom,” Akase wrote.
Ikyur and Iornumbe’s appointment takes effect from November 1.
Meanwhile, incumbent Governor Ortom who is term-limited has said that he is still consulting with God on whether to run for senate in 2023.
“I am still consulting with God because I do not take any decision without consulting my God. If he says yes, I will go ahead and contest, but if He says no, I will obey his decision,” Ortom said recently while speaking with journalists.
