The Governor of Ebonyi state, Gov. Dave Umahi has reacted to recent criticisms from Governor Nyesom Wike by challenging him to a debate.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that Wike made headlines after he stated that a ‘Psychiatric Check’ should be conducted on Umahi for saying the Nigeria needs another leader like President Muhammadu Buhari.
Umahi during a visit to President Buhari in Abuja had told State House correspondents that God should give Nigeria another President like Buhari because he has a good heart.
Speaking at a dinner organised by Ebonyi State Government in honour of Tukur Buratai, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Benin Republic, Umahi said he is open to debate with any PDP Governor who feels he has delivered more democracy dividends to his citizens than the APC led administration in Ebonyi State.
In his word; “People are taking special interest in Ebonyi State and her Governor, positively and negatively but it is very important to be in the news than for you to say there are thirty-six states, you will name 35 and say what is the other State, we have aborted it, we are now a State to reckon with and we have no apologies.
“When I say I have no apologies, you can talk everything about me but you can not say we have not delivered and so when people open their mouths in PDP to talk about APC, they should know that I belong to APC and if they like, let PDP offer any of their best Governors to come for debate with me and I will defeat any of them, not to be talking and talking. You don’t sit on people’s sweat and resources and be talking nonsense.”
“We have no regrets taking our people to the center. We have always played at the center, we are not playing party politics, we are playing politics that will be an advantage to our people, criticize me, no problems but we need resources, we need friendship with the center.”
“Your Excellency you are a visionary leader and your legacies will endure till the end of time.”
Umahi you are a very shameless man. You have no conscience and as Governor Wike said, they should have your brain examined cos no responsible person in his or her right senses will open his or her mouth to utter such statement you made. Come for development, you are in no where near Wike so to me you are the one talking nonsense here. You are not ok to wish Nigerians another president like Buhari. God forbid you.
So with the situation of this country now, a reasonable person will open his mouth and say that the president is trying, may God have mercy on u Gov. Umahi. The president should tell us his 2015 Campaign promises that he fulfilled.
In terms of infrastructural development in Ebony State,they are ranked 86% pass mark,but it was done under PDP leadership of Dave Umahi not at this APC party. Then,Gov Wike’s statement about PMB he made some sense in it.

PDP sympathizers will always remain what they are, no special programs for the masses, no projects completed, no economy recovery plan, they bastardised our education to what is affecting us today, groom unqualified and half-baked medical doctors, engineers, financial professionals, teachers and lecturers always on strike, and above all ill-trained and equipped military and paramilitary forces.
They gave room for terrorists to get well rooted in Nigeria.
Whether PDP supporters like it or not, agree or not, they are the root cause of the problems the present government have been trying to solve.
Wike didn’t talk about projects. You said that your prayer is that God gives us a president like Buhari in 2023,and Wike said you need a psychiatric evaluation. I concur with him.

It is only people building stomach infrastructure that praise a failed leader because of their personal interest. Umahi is already a failed governor. He runs to APC so he will hide and not be investigated. Time Will tell who is delivering democracy dividends.
