Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari held a virtual council of state meeting with Former Presidents, General Ibrahim Babangida; Chief Ernest Shonekan and General Abdulsalami Abubakar and Goodluck Jonathan who was physically present.
The Nigerian Council of State is an organ of the Nigerian Government majorly saddled with advising the executive on policymaking.
It comprises of the President, the Vice-President, all former Presidents of the Federation and all former Heads of the Government of the Federation; all former Chief Justices of Nigeria; the President of the Senate; the Speaker of the House of Representatives; all the Governors of the states of the Federation; and the Attorney-General of the Federation.
The meeting, which kicked off at 11:00 am also has the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan; SGF Boss Mustapha all physically present.
