A High Court sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State has freed 24 pro-Biafra agitators detained at the State’s Correctional Service.
In a video post made on Facebook, the pro-Biafra lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor said the detainees were released on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
Ejiofor in the post titled, “Freed at last”, said the detainees were released following a judgement delivered by Justice IP China of the High Court in Ebonyi.
He said the detainees were discharged and acquitted by the court and the Ebonyi State Correctional Service released them immediately.
Also noting that justice has prevailed in the matter, the lawyer said he returns all glory to God Almighty who made it possible for pro-Biafra agitators to regain their freedom.
He wrote, “FREED AT LAST!!! A Triumph for Justice. All Glory to God
“In faithful compliance with the judgment delivered today by my lord, Hon. Justice I.P. Chima of the High Court of Ebonyi State, Abakaliki Judicial Division, which today, discharged and acquitted the remaining 24 innocent Biafrans, the Ebonyi State Correctional Service has acted without delay and released these innocent citizens from custody.
“With heads held high and hearts overflowing, they walked out of the correctional facility in victory, breaking into songs of praise and heartfelt thanksgiving to the Almighty God; the ultimate defender of the oppressed, who in His perfect timing, has brought this season of sorrow to a glorious end.
To Him alone be all the glory, honour, and adoration. Great is His faithfulness. Amen and Amen,” Ejiofor added.
