The aggrieved governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), better known as G5, are currently enmeshed in a crisis over its choice of a presidential candidate.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the G5, opposed to happenings within the PDP, are the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike; Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde; Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu; Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom; and Enugu State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. The governors are not ready to support their party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar until Iyorchia Ayu resigns as the National Chairman of the PDP.
After the marathon strategic meetings in London with the opposition, the face of the G5, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, “angrily” departed the United Kingdom (UK) for Madrid, Spain, to watch Real Madrid match this weekend.
This newspaper learned that Ikpeazu and Ortom suggested that they remain neutral as supporting any other candidate except their party’s candidate will spell doom for them in PDP.
Recall that Messrs Ikpeazu and Ortom are the Abia South Senatorial district and Benue North-West Senatorial candidates respectively of the PDP. A suspension or expulsion for anti-party activities will ruin their tickets in respect of the 2023 election.
A reliable source revealed that while it was true that Makinde and Wike shared the same view that they should support the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Ikpeazu and Ortom differed.
Ortom, Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi are contesting senatorial elections in their respective states, whereas Wike has no immediate political interest except for his associates in Rivers state.
I pray you take good decision for the good of Nigerian vulnerable masses, remember the future because we shall certainly remind you of this your dispositions,
Reports are speculation until these people communicate to their supporters.
This tangling in PDP is one of the divine manifestations that will usher Peter Obi into winning 2023 presidential election. I pray it gets worse.
Confused people
I still trust that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state will not endorse Tinubu of APC because APC have failed Nigerians
I am acquainted with the story of ‘Alibaba and the 40 thieves ” while I was growing up.
Little did I know that soon a replica of that theatrical act would repeat itself when “Atiku and the 7 puppets” walked out of the PDP special convention for some subjective reasons on 31st August, 2013.
I thought we have seen the end of these seasonal comics, until another breakaway gang of five formally addressed as G5 reenacted these reality show of shame once again.
Nigerians, whether we like it or not this breakaway practices have come to stay and we are only going to be seeing a regular upgrade in the subsequent breakaway as election and electioneering approach, but I don’t see it coming to an end soon.
any endorsement other than peter Obi will spell doom for Gov Ortom. We the people of Benue State is going to descend on him in the harshest manner. We shall ensure his candidates loose from top to bottom.
We don’t want to have any business dealing with any Herders candidate or its affiliated political party in Benue State like the APC & PDP. We have had enough of this poisonous people with inhuman & cruel ideology.
Middle belt peasant farmers want to return to their various ancestral lands.
We believed peter Obi presidency will guarantee the security and safety of our farmers=

Very well said. We( all the tribes) of the Middle Belt should stop voting for Fulani Candidates or their surrogates and proxies. We should vote for Peter Obi, a fresh voice for the masses. We shouldn’t even bother about the governors; they are fighting for their personal intersets.
The so called G5 governors are not God, who ever will win 2023 election will win despite their dramas. good luck Nigerian
