Afrobeats musician, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his Lagos residence, accompanied by his father, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, and his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The visit comes on the heels of an earlier engagement in Abuja, where the 32-year-old music icon was accompanied by celebrity businessman Cubana Chief Priest and talent manager Ubi Franklin. The trio met with the President inside his office at Aso Villa.
During the meeting, Davido introduced his companions to Tinubu as “loyal members” of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
“They are both your members, sir. They are APC,” Davido said.
Meanwhile, Ubi Franklin used the moment to highlight his role in the APC’s 2023 campaign. “I travelled to 15 states with you, sir,” he recalled.
Tinubu, in response, said, “Very good. We succeeded and made it to the presidency.”
Cubana Chief Priest predicted another victory. “We will succeed again in 2027,” he said.
The Lagos visit on Tuesday adds to Davido’s continued engagement with Nigeria’s political class. It followed earlier courtesy visits by the singer and his entourage to other key government figures, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
