JUST IN: Delegates beat PDP transition chairman to coma during primary election

Christopher Audu, the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area has been beaten to a coma by some delegates during the primary election.

Audu was attacked by delegates at the election which took place on Thursday, August 16.

It was gathered that medical professionals in Jos, Plateau State’s capital city are battling to save his life after the attack.

An eyewitness to the incident, Michael Bulus, said the exercise was initially peaceful until some delegates and PDP faithful were denied access to the hall.

Bulus said many of those who were denied access forced their way in and went straight to the TIC Chairman.

He said, “It was further alleged that Hon Audu handpicked his loyalists to be delegates at the election while blocking the real delegates from accessing the venue to exercise their franchise.”

Following this, Audu was immediately rushed out of Ba’ap, the headquarters of Qua’an Pan LGA, to an undisclosed location for medical attention after sustaining serious injuries.

He added that the angry delegates also allegedly beat up officials of the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) who were present to oversee the election.
