Senator Dino Melaye has suffered a setback in his bid to return to the Nigerian Senate.
An Appeal Court in Abuja on Tuesday dismissed his appeal against the Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC and Kogi-West Senator, Smart Adeyemi.
It was gathered that a 3-member panel of the appellate court led by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, in a unanimous judgement, resolved all the seven matters considered in the case against the appellants, Mr Melaye and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
The court upheld a judgement issued on June 10th 2020 by the Kogi State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal on Mr Adeyemi’s election.
The court also awarded the cost of N50,000 against Melaye.
