The immediate past sole administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), and the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukayede, were on Wednesday spotted at the State House in Abuja.
While the purpose of their visit was not immediately clear, reports indicated that President Bola Tinubu had summoned Ibas. He arrived at the Villa at about 5:50 p.m.
Ibas had taken charge of Rivers State in March following the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara but relinquished power last week after Tinubu lifted the six-month suspension.
The Rivers State House of Assembly has since resolved to investigate the financial activities of Ibas’s administration during the emergency rule.
