The governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji on Wednesday, appointed Justice Lekan Ogunmoye as the new Chief Judge for the state following the passing of Justice Oyewole Adeyeye on Monday.
A statement by Olayinka Oyebode, the governor’s special adviser on media, said Justice Ogunmoye’s appointment is in furtherance to the powers conferred on the Governor by Section 271(4) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
According to the statement, the new chief judge’s appointment will take immediate effect on Tuesday, November 5.
Borno on November 6, 1963, Justice Ogunmoye was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987.
He rose to the position of becoming a judge on April 1, 2010.
“Governor Oyebanji wishes the new Acting Chief Judge a successful tenure,” the statement said.
