A powerful explosion on Saturday shook the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) factory in the Kakuri Industrial Layout of Kaduna State, killing one person and injuring several others.
The cause of the blast has not yet been determined, but residents reported that the sound was heard across many parts of the city, particularly within Chikun and Kaduna South Local Government Areas.
Eyewitnesses described the explosion as severe, with tremors felt in neighbouring communities.
Sources confirmed that one person died in the incident, while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The wounded were rushed to nearby medical facilities, including the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna, for treatment.
Although details remain sketchy, security and emergency officials are expected to launch full investigations into the cause of the explosion and assess the extent of the damage.
