The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has announced Senator Samuel Anyanwu as its governorship candidate for the upcoming November 11 gubernatorial election in Imo State.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the announcement was made following the PDP’s primary, which was held at the party’s state secretariat located along the Okigwe Road in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
Anyanwu’s emergence as the candidate sets the stage for a highly anticipated electoral battle against the incumbent Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The off-cycle governorship elections scheduled for November 11, 2023, are expected to take place in Bayelsa, Kogi, and Imo states.
