In a landmark ruling, Justice Liman Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Kano has declared that the dethroned Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has the jurisdiction to be heard in court.
The ruling, delivered today, establishes that the former Emir’s case merits judicial consideration, allowing him to present his grievances and seek redress through the legal system.
The case filed by the kingmaker, Aminu Baba Dan Agundi, is that of a fundamental human rights case in the emirate tussle.
The development comes days after a Kano State High Court ordered substituted service on Bayero and four other emirs in a case filed by the Kano State Government to restrain them from parading themselves as emirs.
