Former President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a message to Nigerians as citizens prepare to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year.
In a statement released on Sunday, Buhari expressed his grief and condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the recent tragic stampedes in Oyo State, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Anambra State, which resulted in the loss of several lives.
The former President also extended his sympathy to the Governors of the affected states, including Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra, and Nyesom Wike, Minister of the FCT. He appealed to the leaders to pass on his words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured in the stampedes.
Furthermore, the former Nigerian leader sympathized with the Catholic community, which was also affected by the tragic events.
As Christmas approaches, Buhari extended his warm wishes to Nigerians.

He also extends heartfelt wishes to each and every citizen of our great nation for a Happy New Year, 2025, saying “May this year bring us all immense prosperity, peace, and good health”,’ the statement signed by Garba Shehu said.
