Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, on Monday paid a visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
It was Fubara’s first official visit to the State House since his reinstatement as governor, following six months of emergency rule in Rivers State.
He arrived at the Villa alone at about 6:20 p.m. and proceeded directly to the President’s office.
Fubara, his deputy, and members of the State House of Assembly had been suspended from office on 18 March 2025 by the President after political unrest engulfed the state.
Tinubu lifted the emergency rule on 17 September 2025.
In a statewide broadcast shortly after his reinstatement, Fubara expressed gratitude to the President for intervening in the Rivers crisis, saying he remained “eternally grateful.”
The purpose of Monday’s visit was not officially disclosed, though it is believed to be linked to his return to office.
