Gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi has pleaded not guilty to the murder of 24-year-old Salome Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.
Ajayi made the plea at the High Court of Justice in Lafia, Nasarawa State, where he was arraigned on a single count of culpable homicide punishable by death.
Ajayi was arrested two weeks ago near a church in Nasarawa State, where he was found carrying Salome’s severed head in a bag. The discovery led to a mob attack, which was prevented by police intervention.
Subsequent investigations allegedly uncovered other dismembered parts of Salome’s body in Ajayi’s residence. The suspect had earlier confessed to the crime, citing Salome’s alleged infidelity for it.
