
The chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Barikin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, Muhammad Adamu has been killed.
Adamu was shot dead moments after breaking his fast on Wednesday, March 19, by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen in the LGA.
Condemning the killing of Adamu, the Plateau state chairman of MACBAN urged relevant agencies and security operatives to ensure justice by arresting the criminals.
Also confirming the incident, Danjuma Ibrahim, the youth leader for Barikin Ladi LGA said the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the General Hospital in the area and would be buried on Thursday.
According to Ibrahim, the killing of Adamu marks the third time the LGA chairman would have been targeted by the gunmen.
He said, The gunmen attacked him and shot him severely in the body. There are bullet wounds on the body. After they shot him, they fled the area. Security personnel, including police and soldiers, have responded because we were together with them at the hospital when he was rushed to the hospital.”
“He played a vital role in ensuring peace within the Barikin Ladi area. His demise will continue to linger in our memory because of his significance to sustaining peace in the community,” Ibrahim stated.
