JUST IN: Gunmen Launch Deadly Midnight Raid in Enugu Community, Leaving Four Residents Fighting for Life

Gunmen on Saturday night launched a deadly attack in the Umu-Ezuboke Umualor community, Isi-Uzo local government area of Enugu state, leaving at least four persons hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.

Mr. Methodist Ejiagbo, one of the victims, recounted the terrifying ordeal from his hospital bed.

“Three months ago, some Abakaliki boys threatened to invade our community, warning me specifically that they would kill me and take over my house and land.”

Ejiagbo explained that on the day of the attack, he saw two Hilux vans and a Sienna bus carrying occupants dressed in police uniforms.

“They collected phones and matchets from our people returning from the farm, but spared the young ones. However, at night, they returned, shooting everyone in sight, using cutlasses and clubs to inflict further harm.”

The victim alleged that the attackers were a combination of Amankanu and Abakaliki people, identifying some of them as Samuel Idenyi, Samuel Ede, Tubor, Friday Ukeh, Mark Anyigor, and others.

“They were over 20 in number, and I know them all,” Ejiagbo said.

The police have yet to react to the incident.
