JUST IN: Gunmen Sack Plateau Communities, Leaving Seven Dead

Armed terrorists sacked two communities in Plateau State, leaving behind seven lifeless bodies.

The attacks, which occurred in the early hours of Thursday, took place at the Pukah and Pinper communities in Mangu Local Government Area.

According to a resident of Pukah, John Mark, the gunmen stormed the community, mercilessly gunning down six men and one woman. Their rampage extended to Pinper, where they made off with many sheep and other livestock.

According to John Mark, “The Pukah community in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State came under heavy attack by gunmen early this morning (Thursday). They also attacked another community in the council area known as Pinper.

“In Pukah community, they killed one lady and six men. But in Pinper, they carted away several numbers of sheep before they fled the communities ”

The military taskforce in the area has yet to comment on the attacks.

Recall that the Plateau State government, in a recent effort to strengthen security, has recently trained 600 personnel for Operation Rainbow, a state-owned security outfit.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang, while addressing the newly trained operatives, expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support of state-owned security agencies. He said the timeliness of Operation Rainbow’s revitalisation, stating that it comes at a crucial moment when the state seeks to consolidate its gains in addressing security challenges that have plagued the region for years.
