JUST IN: Heavy Protest in Ebonyi over Gov. Umahi’s Sack by High Court [PICS]

A heavy protest against the Sacking of Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi held on Monday in Ohaozara LGA of the state.

The Governor’s kinsmen from Uburu, Okposi and Uguwlangwu clans converged at Obiozara, the Headquarters of the local government area to protest against the federal High Court ruling that ordered Umahi and his deputy, Kelechi Igwe, to vacate their offices for defecting from Peoples Democratic party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mrs. Nkechinyere Iyioku, Chairman of Ohaozara LGA and the National President of Akubaraoha Youths Assembly (AYA),Mr. Mark Onu, and other stakeholders from the area led the protest.

The people described the judgement as unfair, and declared their unalloyed support and solidarity to the Governor and his deputy. They called on the general public to disregard the judgement.

  1. I think people should be very civilized. Instead of disturbing public peace because a governor and his deputy are removed by a court of competent jurisdiction, they should approach the appeal court to set aside the other judgement. Rather, they are protesting because of peanuts given as gratification. People are myopic and willingly mortgaging their future because of porridge
