The House of Representatives suspended its session on Wednesday to pay tribute to Olaide Akinremi, a member from Oyo State who passed away earlier that day at the age of 51.
Akinremi, who chaired the House Committee on Science Research Institutions, represented Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
Speaker Tajudeen Abbas announced the sad news at the start of the session, and the House observed a minute of silence in respect of their late colleague.
The session was then adjourned until Thursday.
According to House spokesman Akin Rotimi Jnr, Akinremi’s death occurred on Wednesday morning.
