JUST IN: IGP Egbetokun Appoints Principal Officer, Unveils New Strategy

The new acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olukayode Egbetokun, has appointed a Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, as his Principal Staff Officer.

The new police boss announced Disu’s appointment while flagging off the new policing strategies for the Nigeria Police Force.

The IGP made public the new strategy to achieve operational successes and re-ignite public trust during the inaugural conference.

Attendees include:

  • Strategic police managers.
  • Comprising members of the Force Management Team.
  • Assistant Inspectors General of Police.
  • Commissioners of Police.
  • Other heads of police formations in the country.

A statement by the Force spokesman, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the IGP also appointed CSP Ganiyu Adebowale as Personal Assistant (PA-IGP), SP Adewale Ajibuwa as Chief Protocol Officer (CPO-IGP), DSP Sheriff Lawal as Aide-de-Camp (ADC-IGP), and DSP Olawole Ogunwusi as Chief Security Officer (CSO-IGP).

“The Inspector General of Police reassures citizens that the Nigeria Police Force under his command will symbolise excellence, integrity, and compassion.

He also pleaded to Nigerians to collaborate with the Police to shape a future where justice will triumph.

He assured that the vulnerable will be protected across the country.

He urged citizens to do lawful business without fear of molestation or insecurity.
