The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has sanctioned the posting and redeployment of 40 Senior Police Officers, including 14 Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) and 26 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various Commands and Formations across the country with immediate effect.

This reassignment, as indicated in a released statement by the Force, ”is a direct response to the IGP’s commitment to fostering a professionally competent, service-driven, rule of law compliant, and community-friendly Police Force.”

According to the statement, the realignment aims to reflect the recent elevation of senior officers to their next ranks.

Notable among the posted AIGs are Ogundele Joshua Ayodeji, who has been reassigned to Zone 7 Abuja; Patrick Ogon Edung, designated for Zone 11 Osogbo; and Badru Banji Lawal, assigned to Border Patrol FHQ.

Meanwhile, CP Disu Olatunji Rilwan has been posted to Rivers State, CP George Chijioke Chuku to Benue State, and CP Ahmed Abdullahi Tijani to Jigawa State, among the 26 CPs allocated to different commands and formations.

The Inspector General of Police has urged the newly posted and redeployed officers to align with the policies of the Force and support the government’s agenda for economic recovery and the country’s socio-political development.

Emphasizing the imperative of upholding professionalism and diligent policing services, the IGP called on the officers to collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to bring policing closer to the people they serve.
