The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is meeting with accredited local elections observer groups and civil society organizations to review the 2023 general elections.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the meeting, which at INEC headquarters in Abuja, is led by INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and National Commissioners of the Commission.
The CSOs and observer groups are expected to present their findings from the elections, which will include reports of irregularities and challenges.
The meeting is also aimed at discussing preparations for the upcoming off-season governorship elections in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa states.
INEC has been engaging with critical stakeholders since the 2023 general elections in order to get feedback on the conduct of the polls and to make plans for future elections.
