JUST IN: IPOB reacts to killing of INEC staff in Imo

The proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on Friday condemned the attack on staff of the Independent National Electoral Commision (INEC) at Ihite Uboma Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State.

In a statement obtained by POLITICS NIGERIA, the pro-Biafra group vowed to “expose” those behind the mindless killings ongoing in the southeast region of Nigeria.

It would be recalled that some gunmen on Thursday stormed Ihitte Uboma LGA in Imo State, disrupted activities, and shot dead a staff of INEC, Okorie Anthony, during the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration Exercise (CVR). IPOB, which a lot of social media users, accuse of being behind the senseless killings, insist it is not happy with the situation too.

“We the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the command and leadership of our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, strongly condemn the attack on INEC staff at Ihite Uboma LGA of Imo State.

“IPOB is not happy with these criminal activities going on in our region because we don’t want this to continue and we are going to expose those behind this evil in the region,” IPOB’s statement reads in part.
