Odetayo resumed his office around 8 a.m. amid jubilation by the staff of the institution.
It was gathered that Governor Adeleke had suspended Odetayo over allegations of misappropriation of funds and abuse of office, and replaced him with Kehinde Alabi.
However, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) had embarked on strike, claiming the governor of nepotism.
At the time, ASUP’s leadership warned that “If Odetayo is suspended, the deputy rector should be the one to replace Odetayo, not Alabi who is yet to be a chief lecturer.”
On his part, Odetayo approached the court to challenge his suspension and secured an injunction for the status quo to remain pending the determination of the suit.
