Members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Osun State have picketed the office of the State Chief Justice, Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, in protest against the alleged persecution of their members.
The union’s chairman, Oluwagbemiga Olakunle Eludire, told journalists on Monday that the protest was separate from the ongoing strike by the state government.
Eludire said the union had demanded an explanation from Justice Ojo on why their wardrobe allowance starting from 2021 had not been released despite funding by the state government.
He also questioned why the government directive on promotion and advancement had not been followed and why some JUSUN members had been suspended without proper investigation.
“We will not back down until appropriate action is taken on the matter,” Eludire said.
