A Kaduna State-bound train from Abuja derailed at Asha station in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Wednesday.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the development left numerous passengers stranded.
According to a passenger who spoke to TheCable, the train derailed at approximately 3:52 pm, mere minutes after departing Kubwa station in Abuja.
The passenger further stated that passengers were stranded with no signs of authorities being notified.
This incident marks the second time in two weeks that the train has derailed.
On May 26, a train travelling from Rigasa station in Kaduna to Abuja derailed in a mountainous area near Jere, resulting in three carriages going off the tracks.
Fortunately, there were no casualties.
