JUST IN: Kano Governor Yusuf Reshuffles Cabinet, Civil Service Posts

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved minor changes in his cabinet and senior civil service positions as part of efforts to enhance governance and service delivery.

The governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, disclosed the development in a statement issued late Monday.

According to the statement, the reshuffle affected key ministries, including Justice, Transport, Environment, and Humanitarian Affairs.

Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi, has been redeployed to head the Ministry of Transport. Similarly, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Justice Ministry, Mustapha Nuruddeen Muhammad, has been reassigned as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment.

The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, who had been temporarily overseeing Transport, will now return fully to his original portfolio.

Governor Yusuf directed the affected officials to hand over to the most senior officers in their respective ministries and ensure the process is completed by Tuesday, September 23.

The statement added that the adjustment was intended to strengthen the government’s capacity to deliver on its commitments to the people of Kano State.
