A member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) representing Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano State, Mukhtar Umar Yarima, has reclaimed his seat at the Court of Appeal.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the election of Mr Yarima was in August invalidated by the National and State House of Assembly elections petition tribunal in Kano for presenting a forged copy of his primary school certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
However, the Court of Appeal disagreed with the tribunal, saying it had failed to establish a case of forgery.
Consequently, the court set aside the decision of the tribunal and reinstated Mr Yarima as the duly elected member representing Tarauni Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
