The Kano State Government has lifted the curfew imposed on the city following the #EndBadGovernance protests, as normalcy gradually returns.
The decision comes after violence rocked the city, resulting in the destruction and looting of property worth billions of naira.
In a statement released on Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Facebook page on Monday, his media aide Salisu Yahya Hotoro announced the lifting of the curfew.
“The 24-hour curfew imposed on Kano has been effectively lifted as peace has completely returned to the city,” the statement read.
Initially, a 24-hour curfew was imposed to contain the situation, which was later relaxed to 6:00 am to 6:00 pm to allow for business activities.
