Kanunta Kanu, younger brother to the leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on Monday blamed the failure of the Nigerian Government to declare bandits terrorists as “the root cause of the killings in Anambra state”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the 2021 gubernatorial election in Anambra State is slated for this Saturday, November 6. Build-up to the election has been dominated by mindless attacks and killings in the state.
Kanu says the Anambra crises are “consequences” of the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration’s reluctance to designate bandits enemies of the nation.
“The consequences of #NGRGOV failure to declare bandits as terrorists are the root cause of the killings in Anambra state up coming election @FCDOGovUK.
#DSS & #FulaniHerdsmen are both Fulani owned #TerrorGroups. One is legalized, the other awaiting official government approval @UN,” Kanu wrote via his known Twitter handle.
Although the Nigerian federal government has continued to finger IPOB as being responsible for the current mayhem in the Southeast, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo admonished the government that blaming IPOB would not be a solution to the current distasteful situation in the country.
