President Muhammadu Buhari has mourned the death of Karimatu Abubakar Bichi, mother of the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Magaji Bichi.
POLITIC NIGERIA learned that the 96-year-old community leader died on Sunday night in Bichi town, Kano state. She has since been buried on Monday according to Muslim rites.
In a condolence message to the DSS boss, Bichi town, and the Kano state government, the president said Hajia Bichi will be remembered for her untiring efforts to unite the family and promote peace in her community.
President Buhari prayed that Almighty Allah receive Hajiya Bichi’s soul and asked God to grant the deceased family and friends the fortitude to bear the loss.
The statement read in parts: “I am deeply anguished by the passing away of Hajiya Kareematu, an important family and community leader. She will be remembered for her untiring efforts to unite the family and promote peace in her community.”
