Many people are feared dead following a joint operation by Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s security outfit, Agunechemba, and security forces who stormed the hideout of gunmen and kidnappers in Enugu-Agidi, Njikoka Local Government Area.
The raid, which took place around 1 am on Thursday, has left scores of criminals dead, while others fled with various degrees of injuries.
The operation was carried out by the “Udo Ga Achi and Agunechemba” troops, who were joined by other security outfits, including the Police, DSS, and Military. According to sources, the raid was based on intelligence gathering, and one of the gunmen was arrested during the operation.
Items recovered include two AK- 47 Riffles, 8 Pump Action guns,4 Locally made Pistols, 3 packets of Cartridges(101 Cartridges) 4 empty Magazines of AK-47 Riffles, 3 Cutlasses, one Baofeng Radio, one motorcycle and many charms.
Recently, Anambra State has come under attack from gunmen who have unleashed attacks and made successful kidnaps.
