Mohammed Fawehinmi, the late son of Legal luminary, Gani Fawehinmi, died of COVID-19 related complications, a statement by the family revealed on Thursday.
Mohammed, who was 52, gave up the Ghost last Wednesday. The statement signed by Saheed Fawehinmi, a brother to the deceased on behalf of the family, revealed this at a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
“The family could not immediately disclose the cause of our brother’s death because we wanted the information to be based on factual medical details especially as maybe contained in the death certificate,” he said.
“Today however, we are in a position to inform you that our dear brother died from COVID-19 related complications.”
Mohammed was born on February 21, 1969 and was called to bar in 1988.
