More players have trooped into the camp of the Super Eagles in Uyo ahead of Friday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup MatchDay 3 fixture against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that five additional players joined the team on Tuesday.
According to Team Media Officer Promise Efoghe, Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Frank Onyeka, and Paul Onuachu arrived at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo around noon on a private jet arranged by the Nigeria Football Federation.
They were subsequently driven to the team’s accommodation at the Ibom Hotel and Resorts, where they met up with their teammates in time for lunch.
The arrival of the five players brings the total number of players in camp to 20.
It is learnt that yesterday’s training session was attended by only 15 players, as the ongoing organised labour strike grounded domestic flights, affecting the arrival of some players.
The remaining three players expected to join the camp later today are Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, and goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
