The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has reduced the cost of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage from over N8 million to N7.6 million for intending pilgrims.

NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Pakistan, disclosed this during an interview with DCL Hausa from Saudi Arabia.

He explained that the review will save each pilgrim over N760,000 compared with last year’s fare. The reduction follows President Bola Tinubu’s directive to make the pilgrimage more affordable, as well as recent negotiations by the commission with Saudi Arabian service providers.

“Pilgrims from Adamawa and Borno States will now pay N7.5 million instead of the previously announced N8.3 million,” Professor Pakistan said.

He added that pilgrims from other Northern states will pay N7,669,769, down from N8,457,685, while the fare for Southern states has been reduced to N7,991,141 from N8,784,085.

The NAHCON Chairman also announced that December 5 has been set as the deadline for all intending pilgrims to complete their payments for the 2026 Hajj.
