A member of the Nasarawa State’s House of Assembly, Mohammed Isimbabi has defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Isimbabi’s defection was announced by the Speaker of the House, Danladi Jatau, while reading his defection letter at the plenary on Monday, August 26.
Jatau stated that Isimbabi who represents Toto/Gadabuke Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, cited division in the NNPP as the major reason for his defection.
He said has defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Commending the lawmaker for “his bold step in joining the ruling APC in the state”, Jatau said Isimbabi’s defection is a welcome development.
His words, “I want to commend him for taking this very serious decision to join APC. His defection to APC is welcome as a leader of the house.”
Jatau also noted that Isimbabi’s defection would add value to the party.
